Watermarble Wednesday: Navy, Yellow, and White
This weeks watermarble sort of happened by accident (well, the color combo anyway). I had several colors sitting out on my table working on other design ideas and these sort of migrated together and I knew I had to try a marble with them. It didn't turn out as "crisp" as I would like, but I still love the colors.
Leave me a comment below with combos you would like to see used for next weeks watermarble!

Water marble Wednesday
If you follow me on Instagram, you know I have been doing a lot of water marble looks lately. This one was created using just two colors, Zoya Purity and Jancyn. Looks a bit like a creamsicle, don't ya think?
If you have suggestions for future water marble colors or other looks you would like to see, leave me a comment below!

Pink and Brown - New 31 Day Challenge
Pink and brown is one of my favorite color combos so I wanted to try to fit it into this challenge somewhere. Today's theme is "merge or melt" so this seemed like the perfect time to try a pink and brown water marble. I have done a few in the past with various results. I have finally determined that for me, room temperature bottled water works best. Some polish works better or reacts differently than others. I am going to show you an example that happened sort of by accident. Revlon Hot for Chocolate has become my "go to" dark brown shade. It is the perfect chocolate shade and works well for stamping so it was my obvious choice for the brown. I selected China Glaze Designer Satin and OPI Pink Friday for the pink shades. I started with a base of Pink Friday and then on to the marble. I had some trouble with the brown spreading too much but tried it anyway on my middle finger. On a whim I decided to try Zoya Codie in place of Hot for Chocolate....oh what a difference! On all the other fingers I used Codie instead and you can see the major difference. The lines are sharper and the colors "pop" more. I am in LOVE with how this turned out!!

All About Pink
Today's theme for the New 31 Day Challenge is "Favorite Color Family". I had a bit of a tough time deciding what to do for this one because tomorrow's theme is "Ombre or Skittle" and I didn't want two very similar posts back to back. Once I decided on pinks the tough part was then picking a few to use for a water marble...and since I did this one a few days ago, now I don't remember exactly what polishes I did use! I know the Zoya is Lara but the rest I don't remember, sorry about that! Once the marble was done I used some loose glitter from Born Pretty Store in very random patters across the nails for added bling.
You can find the loose glitter here Don't forget to check out what the other ladies have come up with!

Colors of the Fall
I know I have been horribly behind lately and it seems to be showing up in every area of my life including my blog! I hope to get back on track very soon! Every so often I push myself to try another water marble because I love the way they look so this is another attempt. For this one I used all OPI colors; We'll Always Have Paris, Call me Gwen-ever, Uh-Oh, Roll Down the Window, and I Break for Manicures. The colors all worked together really well in a lovely fall-colored water marble. I have read several places that suggest room temperature water works best and others that swear by bottled or filtered water. This time I tried the bottled water method and it did seem to yield better results for me.

Another Water Marble
I have done a few water marbles lately as part of the Summer Challenge and typically I point out how I love the look but hate the process. Today I forced myself to try again because, as we all know, practice makes perfect!
I did have to make some adjustments, some of the colors I originally picked didn't work quite right for whatever reason. Overall, this turned out to be the best so far I think. It still isn't perfect, I still have bubbles that are infuriating to me, but I was pleased nonetheless.

Summer Water Marble
Let me just say, one more time; I am really not a fan of water marble! Not the look; if done right, they can look really cool and intricate. If anything goes wrong, you wind up with...well, this. It's not all bad really; maybe part of it stems from my dislike of neons on my own nails. I don't know. At any rate, here it is in all its gory glory for all the world to see.

A Retro Water Marble
I don't know why I keep trying to do water marbles, I am never truly satisfied with how they turn out...think I just answered my own question though; I am a perfectionist. If I don't like how something turns out I will keep at it until I get it right, *sigh* I guess that means I will be getting more practice. At any rate, I am more pleased with this one than the pink/blue one from last week but it still didn't turn out as "crisp" as I would have liked. But, I really wanted something that resembled a bright tie-dye and I think it does do that.

Summer Challenge - Pink and Blue
So today's theme is pink and blue, simple enough right? I have known the theme for a while now and knew it was one I would be attempting so I should have loads of ideas by now, right? Nope! Nada. So I finally decided to attempt a water marble. I have such a love/hate relationship with them. I love the way some bloggers out there can get theirs to look, hate the time consuming mess mine usually turn in to. But decided to attempt it anyway...at 8PM no less. So, here is my sad attempt at a water marble and very late Purple Crumpet Fairy Challenge mani for today. I used all China Glaze colors, First Mate, Electric Beat, and Kinetic Candy for the blues; Make an Entrance, Traffic Jam, and Dance Baby for the pinks.

Blue Water Marble - Autism Awareness
I entered a contest over at LuvMyLaquer in support of Autism Awareness. The contest ends 4/27/12 so if you haven't already, be sure and head over there to enter! For my entry, I decided to try a water marble. I love the look of water marbles but I'm not very good at them! At any rate, this one started with a coat of China Glaze Electric Beat and then I used First Mate, Bermuda Breakaway, Aqua Baby and Electric Beat for the marble. I added some accents using blue microbeads and Revlon's Silver Dollar, then topped it all off with NYC's Grand Central Station.
