All About Pink
Today's theme for the New 31 Day Challenge is "Favorite Color Family". I had a bit of a tough time deciding what to do for this one because tomorrow's theme is "Ombre or Skittle" and I didn't want two very similar posts back to back. Once I decided on pinks the tough part was then picking a few to use for a water marble...and since I did this one a few days ago, now I don't remember exactly what polishes I did use! I know the Zoya is Lara but the rest I don't remember, sorry about that! Once the marble was done I used some loose glitter from Born Pretty Store in very random patters across the nails for added bling.
You can find the loose glitter here Don't forget to check out what the other ladies have come up with!

Pink a Doodle Do
Pink is one of my favorite colors so I have a LOT of pink polish. I had a tough time deciding what to do for this challenge simply because of that. Ultimately I decided to use Lush Lacquer Pink a Doodle Do, then I just had to decide what to layer it over...also not an easy task! Ulta Wicked was among my untried so I finally settled on it.

FrankenPink
So I'm slipping this one in maybe a little late for the "once a week pink" plan depending on what day you count as the first day of the week. I made this franken for a friend's little girl's birthday party a few weeks ago and had enough left after making the party favors for me to keep some. I hadn't had the chance to try it out yet though so today was my chance. It goes on kind a sheer and the glitter doesn't show up on the nail as well as I had hoped.
I think I will probably leave the polish-making to the experts!

Essie Check Up Swatch and Review
I know today was supposed to be Zombies for the Halloween Challenge, but I have been sick lately and just haven't felt like doing much of anything. Quite disappointing really because it was the only theme that piqued my husband's interest (He is a huge fan of The Walking Dead). Maybe somewhere down the line I can fit in some zombie nails.
My challenge to myself is to have at least one pink mani a week this month in honor of breast cancer awareness, so this is that post. Check up is part of the 2012 Breast Cancer Awareness line from essie. This one is a gorgeous dusky mauve color with a creme finish. Just slightly darker than I am Strong.
To step it up just a bit I took the awareness ribbon image from the Bundle Monster BM-321 plate and stamped my ring finger using China Glaze Make an Entrance.
I have a poll going on right now at the top right of the page to see what my readers would like to see more of on the blog. If you have a sec, please vote and let me know. If you want to see more of something not on the list, leave a comment or shoot me an email. Thanks for your feedback!

Essie I am Strong Swatch and Review
A second pink post for this week in honor of BCA! I am Strong is part of essie's new Breast Cancer Awareness Collection. This is one of four in the collection, one of two that I own. I am Strong is a beautiful sort of dusky pink shade that essie calls a "creamy, optimistic pink". Very pretty shade, great formula, two coats shown here without a topcoat to show the shine it has on its own. This is a really pretty shade for fall as well.

Awareness
Today is October 1. I am sure all of you know that and that you also know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Breast cancer research is a cause that I feel very strongly about for many reasons. As a nurse, I have had several patients in various stages of this horrific disease On a personal level, it has touched many people in my life. A very dear friend who has been a survivor for nearly ten years now, and more recently a friend who lost her battle at the age of 32 just last month. For those reasons and for all the other women out there fighting, this blog will be as pink as possible for the month of October! Every week there will be at least one pink post to help remind us to be alert, support each other, and if you are a woman "FEEL YOUR BOOBIES". Self breast exams are one of the best and easiest ways to detect this horrible disease in its early stages. Feel free to share your stories here in the comment section, or via my Facebook page or Twitter.
I am sorry I don't have a "new" image for today but here is a compilation of some of the other pink manis that have been featured in the past.

Traffic Jam on Pink Wednesday
Clearly I missed last week's Pink Wednesday, sorry about that! I have loads of pink polishes and for some reason when it comes time to come up with just one mani a week using pink, I have a hard time with it! I'm really not sure why, but there it is. Anyway, for this week I used China Glaze Traffic Jam as a base and then on an accent added microbeads to create a "FishEgg" look. I sort of like how this one turned out but I initially wanted the microbeads to match the base a little better. What do you think?

Pink Wednesday Cult Nails Style
This week I got my first Cult Nails polishes! I pre-ordered the Divas and Drama collection so today's post features one of them - Enticing. Enticing is a gorgeous sheer pink with a very, very subtle shimmer...almost jellyish. I used 3 coats with some VNL but flawless application. I then stamped my middle finger using Julep Niecy and Bundle Monster BM 215 plate.

Pink Wednesday, Revlon style
I have missed a few pink Wednesdays, sorry about that! This weeks is a simple stamp design. I started with two coats of Revlon's Cafe' Pink then stamped with Revlon's Extravagant and Konad M25. Topped with a coat of Seche.

Pink Cadillac!
Elvis' Pink Cadillac to be exact. I got this little beauty in the mail last week and thought it would make a perfect Pink Wednesday post! This one is pretty sheer but still gorgeous and unique. I may try it layered over Essie Raise Awareness next time... I wish I would have gotten the full size! As of the last time I checked this beauty is out of stock over at Pretty and Polished, but keep checking back as she tends to restock often! :)

Dance Baby!
Today I have for you a swatch of China Glaze's Dance Baby from the Electropop Spring 2012 collection. It is a beautiful pastel pink with a hint of purple. The formula is great, pictured is two coats.

Then I topped it off with two coats of OPI's I Lily Love You. It was really much brighter than it looks here but I couldn't get the true color to really show up, aside from that its a really pretty combo. I topped the whole thing off with a coat of Seche.
