Magic and Clouds

For today's look I started with CND Sticky then two coats of OPI DS Magic.  It is a beautiful color on its own but I wanted something a bit different so I pulled out my stamping plate stash and finally settled on Bundle Monster's BM-312 plate because one of the designs looks like clouds to me...what color to stamp with?  I have had issues with white, they never seem to be as dense as I want them to be.  I have tired several including the stamping polish from Born Pretty Store which I still didn't like.  I finally decided to try Julep Kate which is actually a pearl white...but it works!

She Sells Seashells

I have been dreading today's theme since I read it on the list.  I'm not sure why, I love the beach and seashells...I even have a sea-inspired bathroom.  But for some reason this challenge stumped me; I guess that's why it's called a challenge!  At any rate, I sort of had an idea in my head about what I wanted to achieve with today's mani and I think it came across relatively well.  I started by trying to use the two colors in a gradient but it really didn't work well (due to the opacity?) so I ended up painting on two coats of Cult Nails Princess a gorgeous dusky blue shade with a copper shimmer and sponging OPI DS Classic on the tips to resemble (sparkly) sand.  While that was still tacky I used a toothpick to apply tiny pieces of shells that I got in a nail art kit from Sally's and sealed with a topcoat.

OPI DS Extravagance Swatch and Review

This is the second of the DS series polishes that I bought, I'm not sure why it has taken this long to get it on here because I do LOVE the color!  Formula wise it is great as well, two easy coats to full opacity though you could probably get away with one careful coat.  Shown here with a topcoat of Seche.  I don't usually wear polish more than a day (trying to get through my ever-growing stash!) but have had this one on for over 24 hours now through playing with my nieces and nephew today and it shows no signs of tipwear!

OPI DS Magic Swatch and Review

So last night I let my hubby pick a polish from my collection for my next mani.  To my surprise, he actually spent some time looking through them, and didn't pick black! DS Magic is one of four of the DS series that i have.  I started with a base of CND Sticky and two coats of DS Magic followed by a coat of Seche Vite.  I have had this on for just over 24 hours now, through one shift at work with minimal tip wear.  I got loads of compliments on how bright and fun this color is!
