Stop Stocking Me!

Love the name and the color! I found this polish at Sephora last week in their clearance bin for $5 and I'm so glad I picked it up! Normally, I probably wouldn't have noticed this shade because while I do love dark polish, they tend to sort of blend together in the store. This is a gorgeous deep plum shade with some gold undertones to it. Application was a breeze, two coats shown here without a topcoat.

St. Patrick's Day Mani

This is going to be a very short post because I am not at home at the moment and can't remeber the names of all the polishes I used!

I painted the thumb nail and ring finger with OPI Skull and Glossbones, the face of the leprechaun is acrylic paints, the beard and hair is China Glaze but I can't remember which one! The hat is China Glaze Argo with a black acrylic band and Sephora Alumnium Gold buckle. All other nails are painted with Nubar but again, not sure of the name.

On my right hand I painted the middle finger with Skull and Glossbones, black acrylic for the pot, Antique Gold for the coins and various colors for the rainbow. Then I of course topped them all off with a coat of Seche Vite. If anyone has any questions let me know and I will check it out when I get home!

Green Tips

I used to French tip my nails all the time because I really like the "classy" look of it but I haven't done it in a while so while I was trying to come up with ideas for this weeks Green Theme, I thought I would have one of them be a French. I have seen several versions of a green French tip mani out there over the past several days. I think it's still classy enough that really about anyone can pull it off. With so many different shades of green out there you should be able to find one that will suit your style! For mine I chose Sinful Exotic Green. Beautiful shade really though I don't think I have worn it alone, for this the formula was great. I just painted the tips with it and then covered the whole nail with Seche Vite and then used Sephora's Aluminum Gold with a dotting tool for the accents. The little gold flower is from a package I got at Sephora around Christmas.

Going Green

With St. Patrick's Day coming up this weekend, I thought it would be fun to do a week of green/Irish themed nails. I'm not sure if I will be able to keep up with daily posting, but I will try to get one in every day. Up first is a fairly simple mani with a base of Wet N Wild's SaGreena The Teenage Witch. Very pretty color...very bad formula! I lost count of how many coats I had to do with this one but somewhere between 4 and 5 which really isn't worth it to me. At any rate, I then stamped the clover design with Sephora's Aluminum Gold on all but my index finger, on that one I applied one coat of China Glaze Blonde Bombshell. Stay tuned for more green!

Zoya Cynthia and a stamping experiment

So for today's nails I wanted to try out some different things. I started with two coats of Zoya Cynthia; to date this is the only Zoya polish I own. There are a few reasons behind that, this is sort of a "new" obsession for me; there is NOWHERE around where I live to buy Zoya; and I kind of dislike ordering polish online unless I have seen it before in person or a swatch. At any rate, I have this one and it is a very deep teal shade that pretty much looks black in most lighting.

Then I decided to punch it up a bit and test some of my stamping plates. This is a mix of designs from a couple of different brands of plates and Sephora's Mirror Mirror used for the stamping color. What do you think? Which pattern is your favorite?

Birthday Nails!

So today is my birthday, good thing I'm not superstitious! I also have to work today so I wanted something fun but not too out there for work so I went with some cupcakes! For the background color I applied 2 coats of NYC Downtown, a gorgeous berry pink shade. Then on the accent nails I used a bamboo stick to "draw" on the cupcake wrapper in China Glaze For Audrey (love that color, can ya tell?), let it dry a bit and used the same stick to draw on the lines with Mirror, Mirror by Sephora. I used L.A. Colors White for the frosting and then added some microbeads with a toothpick to look like sprinkles! You can find these in the scrapbook section of your favorite craft store in loads of colors! Finally, I added a dot of OPI An Affair in Red Square for the cherry and topped it off with a coat of Seche. They turned out rather cute and now I'm wishing I had the time to do the cupcakes on the other nails! But, alas it is off to work I go. :(
