Happy Pink Wednesday!

I'm going to keep this one short and sweet today, simple pic of my mani for today. Base of Revlon's Sublime Strawberry (from their scented line - YUMMY!), stamped with BM-209 using Wet N Wild's Black Creme polish and finished with a coat of Seche.

Black Knight!!

So I'm sure many of you have seen numerous swatches of this polish, but I'm going to show you again because it is beautiful! This is one of the three butter LONDON polishes I own and so far I have to say that I really like them. For this one I painted one coat of a black cream polish and then one coat of The Black Knight on top. I topped it with a coat of Seche and that is what you see here. I got loads of compliments on this polish!

Just for kicks, here is a macro shot of this one. On first glance it looks like just pink/purple and blue glitter in a black base; but up close you can see there is so much more going on there!

Revlon Royal

I got to spend the day out with my lovely husband today and we did a bit of shopping. I managed to restrain myself and only bought a few polishes...maybe 10. :) As we were walking through Sephora he said to me "Eventually you will have to run out of colors." Silly boys! Anyway, this is one that I picked up last week. Revlon's Royal has been out for a while and got some mixed reviews. I thought the formula was ok, it is a bit patchy in places but it evened out well. Stamped with Konad's m61 plate and Sephora's Mirror Mirror. Topped off with a coat of NYC's Grand Central Station (clear).

What are your thoughts on Royal? Love it? Hate it? Somewhere in between? Let me know, I'd love to hear from you!

Glitter Gal 10 to Midnight

I was so excited when this beauty showed up in the mail this week and I could not wait to try it! 10 to Midnight is a beautiful charcoal grey holo polish that I purchased from llarowe. The only thing I didn't like about this polish is that the holo shift is hard to see indoors. The formula is great and the color is certainly unique!

Here is an up-close pixelated pic of my thumbnail that I included because it looked cool :)

Walk on The Beach

I have been seeing a lot of nude polishes popping up lately and while I have a few in my stash I had yet to actually try any of them. I'm not sure why I was drawn to this color out of all the others on display with it but I'm glad I picked it up! Walk on The Beach is a L'Oreal color that I picked up at Walgreen's last week. It is a very pale cream shade that went very well with my skin tone (that surprised me a little).

I wanted to kick it up some but not take away from the beauty of the polish so I opted for an accent nail with freehand stripes in Ulta's Maine Attraction and the darker shade is Sonia Kashuk's Taunting Teal.

Pink Wednesday!

For this week's Pink Wednesday I wanted something bright yet classy. I have been sitting on this color for a while waiting for the right time and idea to hit me and today it finally did! This is Essie's Tour de Finance from their current Spring line. It is a gorgeous hot pink with blueish shimmer. The formula is perfect, you could get away with just one coat but two is pictured. I stamped them using Konad's m63 plate and aEngland Princess Tears polish.

Indoor without flash

In this outside (cloudy, no flash) pic you can see the blue shimmer in the bottle!

Mardi Gras Nails!

I wanted to do something different in honor of Mardi Gras so I opted to go with the purple/green/gold theme and just build from there.

Bossy Boots

Sorry for the lack of posts over the past few days, I have had to do some overtime at work and haven't really had the time/energy for much of anything. Part of my Ulta haul this past week included butter LONDON's Bossy Boots. It is from their current spring line and it is beautiful! A pale, sea-foam green cream polish that I got lots of compliments on! The first day, I wore it plain in all it's glory. This is two coats but I think I could have gotten away with one careful coat, does have a topcoat of Seche.

The second day (yes, these pics are from the second day!) I layered China Glaze Snow Globe over the top. I don't usually wear a polish more than a day but this one I did both because I liked the color and because I really didn't have the time to change it. It did last very well and after working 24 of the past 48 hours, that is really saying something! :)

Princess Tears

I placed a very small order from llarowe a while back and it came in the mail this week and I have been wanting to try both colors but for now here is one. Princess Tears by A England is from their Legends collection and is a gorgeous silvery lilac holo polish. It proved very difficult to get realistic pictures of.

This one is actually a bit lighter than it looks IRL and a bit less lavender.

This one is a bit dark but shows the holo better. Gorgeous polish, crappy pictures! Sorry!!

Post V-Day Epic Haul!!

So I have talked before about living in the middle of nowhere with really no beauty stores nearby. However, they have recently opened an Ulta about an hour away so today I decided to go. I found several deals and made it out with several new polishes and then stopped at a few drug stores along the way to see what I could find...

Top L-R : OPI Skull and Glossbones, Stranger Tides, Mermaids Tears, Revlon Coconut Crush and Sublime Strawberry (both scented) then Ulta Army of 1 and Maine Attraction and the one on the end is Sally Hansen Pumpkin Spice
Bottom L-R : Butter LONDON Knackered and Bossy Boots, Essence Luxury Secret, Where is the Party, High Spirits, Glamours Life, and You Belong to Me and a pack of the Vanilla polish remover pads

They also had a special going for a free gift with purchase of $17.50 worth of Ulta product (I also got one of their mascara) so this was what was in the gift bag. The polish is called Lav-ish.

Top L-R : Wet N Wild Wet Cement, I Need a Refresh-Mint, Undercover, Disturbia, L'Oreal Walk on the Beach and Eiffel For You, Sally Hansen Yellow Kitty and Lavender Cloud
Bottom L-R Sinful Colors Call You Later and Nicole by OPI It's Not Me, It's Blue

Top L-R : Sinful Colors Glass Pink, Nail Junkie, All About You, You Just Wait, Unicorn, Nirvana and Cinderella
Middle L-R : Sinful Colors Exotic Green, Tutu, Easy Going, Love Nails, Purple Diamond, Gorgeous, and Sally Hansen Night Flight
Bottom L-R : Revlon Plum Night, Ruby Ribbon, Emerald City, CQ Rustic Dream, Sonia Kashuk Taunting Teal, Blank Slate and L'Oreal Caught Red-Handed

This is probably the most polish I have gotten in one day, a good mix of textures, colors and finishes and everything from high-end to drug store brands...now if I just had enough hands to swatch them all ! :)

V-Day Post N Run

This one is going to be a quick post and run, I have to go to work today. :(

Base coat of Orly Bonder, three coats of Essie's Raise Awareness, stamped with various stamping plates and mostly Julep polishes, covered in China Glaze Fairy Dust and topped with Seche; what do you think?

It's Genius!

I have a very limited supply of Essie polishes, as I have stated before I kinda live in the middle of nowhere and they are harder to come by than some. At any rate, today's swatch is one that I love! It's Genius is a shimmery sort of ruby purple if that makes sense, lol! It has tons of gold shimmer to it which makes it simply luscious! Two coats were perfect for me but you could probably make one work if you were careful with it. I used a base of Orly Bonder and a topcoat of Seche for this mani.

In this pic you can see the gold shimmer in the bottle (and I just realized it's upside down! oops!)

The flash is bright in this one but the color is truer here I think.

Julep Elizaabeth

I got my first Julep Maven box earlier this week and was immediately drawn to this color! I have been looking for a great midnight blue and this is it! The formula was great and this one only needed one coat and looked perfect. It is a bit tough to see in the pics but there is a slight shimmer to this one.

Then I decided to see what it would look like with a coat of Fairy Dust...perfection! I love this mani! What is your favorite Julep polish?

Pink Wednesday!

Ok guys, this is my very first Pink Wednesday! I had a few ideas on what I wanted to do, but for this one I just went sort of simple. I first applied my base coat (Bonder) and then 3 coats of Sally Hansen Heart of Stone. Once dry I topped it with two coats of Wet 'n' Wild Sparkled.

It was tough to get a good pic of this one but you can still (barely) see the pink under all that luscious glitter!

I am all about sharing the love so please check out Rini's giveaway, follow her amazing blog and enter the giveaway!! And, keep checking back here for mine!!

Magnetix Attraction

So yesterday as I was reading another nail blog about issues with magnetic polish I had this theory. A few days ago I got my shipment of the China Glaze Magnetix collection and I tried out Drawn To You, a luscious sort of mauvey-purple color with the star pattern from their magnet. It didn't turn out too well, the star was sort of faded out and didn't show up well. I didn't have much time to work on my nails that day and figured it was just my lack of patience. But after reading Jodi's post here I thought maybe it wasn't. So I thought about it a bit and wondered if the polish needed to "dry" a bit first and then apply the magnet. I swatched it again on just one finger (again, no pics) painted a thin coat, let dry and then a medium coat, wait 15-20 seconds and applied the magnet for about 20 seconds and it was perfect! So tonight I went through the same method with Attraction (a steely charcoal gray color) with sort of mixed results. I will let you judge for yourself by the pictures.... Maybe it depends on the color??? Have you had any expereince with a magnetic polish? What did you find? See my post about Nails Inc magnetic polish here.

Dance Baby!

Today I have for you a swatch of China Glaze's Dance Baby from the Electropop Spring 2012 collection. It is a beautiful pastel pink with a hint of purple. The formula is great, pictured is two coats.

Then I topped it off with two coats of OPI's I Lily Love You. It was really much brighter than it looks here but I couldn't get the true color to really show up, aside from that its a really pretty combo. I topped the whole thing off with a coat of Seche.

Zebra Print Nails

A friend of mine is having a second birthday party for her daughter and the theme is basically "hot pink and zebra print". I thought this sounded like an interesting idea for nails so I gave it a try. I started with Sinful Colors Snow Me White and then sponged Dream On (also Sinful Colors) on the tips. I added a coat of Insta-Dri and waited for it to dry and then used Sinful's Black on Black for the stamp using plate m57 and a final coat of Insta-Dri.
