Gingerbread and Candy Canes

The Crumpet's Nail Tarts are at it again with another challenge!  I missed the first day but plan to be on with the rest of the days.  Today's theme is gingerbread and candy canes.  This seemed like a perfect time to use my new polish from Pretty and Polished Love Always, Candy Cain.  This is a beautiful polish with a clear base and various sizes and shapes of red and white glitter including hearts!  This polish is perfect for this theme and would also work well for Valentine's day....I suspect we will be seeing it again!
Anyway, on to today's nails!  I started with a coat of Essie Grow Stronger, I have had a few issues with chips and peeling lately so I am working on getting my nails back into shape.  I used China Glaze Starboard  for the green, Essie Loophole for the silver and Zoya Purity for the white.  Orly Grave Mistake has really become my go-to red for stamping, I also added in a little accent of Ulta Flamingo on the index finger for the striped stamp for a little extra something.  The gingerbread and dots are done in Color Club Antiquated.  Be sure and check out what the others have come up with for today's theme!

Well HELLO Dolly!!

 Oh Pretty and Polished, how I love you!  Hello Dolly has been sitting on my desk for a while now waiting for me to find the right undies for her (ha ha) and today was the day!  I was actually looking for something to put on my toes and was looking through my purple drawer and picked up China Glaze Sweet Hook...this is it Dolly!!  Toes forgotten for the moment I applied my base coat and two coats of Sweet Hook and let that dry.  Here is what it looks like on it's own...sort of pink, but a little more purple...

And then I applied a thickish coat of Hello Dolly.  It applies very well, I just wish there was a bit more of the large pink glitter, it is a bit tough to get those pieces on the nail at at times.  I was thrilled with how this turned out!!  You can find Pretty and Polished by visiting her Etsy store here.  

Freedom Calling

As some of you may know, there has been loads of drama in the polish community over "indie" polishes.  Some good, some bad.  I have bought several indie polishes from several different sellers both on Etsy and ones that I found on llarowe's site.  Pretty and Polished will soon be available on both!  I have made several separate purchases from her and can honestly say I have had nothing but great service!  

On to today's nails!  I started with a base color of Revlon Silver Dollar (2 coats) followed by one coat of of Freedom Calling.  I like the look of glitter on my nails, but I also like them to be smooth so I added a coat of Gelous and a fairly thick coat of Seche.  They are still a bit bumpy but reasonably smooth.  I love that this polish has so much going on without looking like overkill!  The base is perfectly clear (*no bleeding glitter here*) and it is relatively easy to apply though I did have to "dab" in some places but nothing that would keep me from wearing it.  Be sure and check out Pretty and Polished on Etsy and see for yourself!

Pink Cadillac!

Elvis' Pink Cadillac to be exact. I got this little beauty in the mail last week and thought it would make a perfect Pink Wednesday post! This one is pretty sheer but still gorgeous and unique. I may try it layered over Essie Raise Awareness next time... I wish I would have gotten the full size! As of the last time I checked this beauty is out of stock over at Pretty and Polished, but keep checking back as she tends to restock often! :)
