Zoya Reva Swatch and Review

Oh what can I say about Reva?!  What a beautiful red!!  I have never really worn much red polish unless it is a very deep shade because I never really thought it looked good with my very pale skin tone.  This is one that proves me wrong.  Reva is a beautiful red with LOTS of gold shimmer.  It is a truly stunning shade.  I had no issues with application at all, two easy coats topped with SV.  I got LOADS of compliments on this color.  What do you think?  Is Reva in your collection?

Blue Water Marble - Autism Awareness

I entered a contest over at LuvMyLaquer in support of Autism Awareness.  The contest ends 4/27/12 so if you haven't already, be sure and head over there to enter!  For my entry, I decided to try a water marble.  I love the look of water marbles but I'm not very good at them!  At any rate, this one started with a coat of China Glaze Electric Beat and then I used First Mate, Bermuda Breakaway, Aqua Baby and Electric Beat for the marble.  I added some accents using blue microbeads and Revlon's Silver Dollar, then topped it all off with NYC's Grand Central Station.

Traffic Jam on Pink Wednesday

Clearly I missed last week's Pink Wednesday, sorry about that!  I have loads of pink polishes and for some reason when it comes time to come up with just one mani a week using pink, I have a hard time with it!  I'm really not sure why, but there it is.  Anyway, for this week I used China Glaze Traffic Jam as a base and then on an accent added microbeads to create a "FishEgg" look.  I sort of like how this one turned out but I initially wanted the microbeads to match the base a little better.  What do you think?

Hi-Tech

Hi all, today I have for you one of the polishes I picked up during my searches this week.  I was actually able to find all of the Milani 3D Holo this weekend so look for more to come!  I picked Hi-Tech to try out first because it is a shade that is a bit out of my comfort zone....ok, a LOT out of my comfort zone!  For the most part, the pics I post here are of mani's that I actually wear, so this was a stretch for me.  This is 3 coats topped with a coat of Seche.  The little flowers are from a glitter set that I found at a craft store.  It really is more holo in person but very hard to capture here.  What do you think?  Is this a shade you would wear?

Red and Black

I hate thinking of titles for my posts. I usually just use the name of the polish, but when there is more than one I am stumped.  Anyway, this one is going to be short and sweet.  I used two coats of Rimmel Black Satin and then took a blob of Milani Jewel FX Red and put the individual pieces of glitter in a "frame" around each nail.  Amazingly, it really didn't take that long to do, topped it off with a coat of Seche and good to go! :)

Moody Blues

Sorry for the lack of posting the past few days, crazy work schedule! Today I have for you Moody Blues from Ulta. This is a gorgeous navy blue cream polish that applied like a dream!

Two coats, no topcoat.

Then I wanted to see how it would look "mattified"... I think I'm in love!

Pet my Peacock

I have again had to work some extra overtime this week (and I'm not done yet, will be working 36 out of 48 hours this weekend) so for today's mani I just updated the one from yesterday. I have had Spoiled's Pet my Peacock for a couple of weeks now but had yet to try it and finally decided that Revlon's Midnight was one of several colors it would go perfectly with! This is one coat of PMP over Midnight, I added a coat of Gelous (which I think I could of gotten away without) and then a coat of Seche. It is perfectly glassy smooth!

Revlon Midnight Swatch and Review

Revlon's Midnight is a gorgeous teal-blue cream shade from their Colorstay line. It has been in my ever growing pile of "untrieds" for a while now and finally made it to the top. There really is no means to my madness when it comes to that at this point. Anyway, I started with Julep's basecoat and then two very easy coats of Midnight. I probably could have gotten away with one if I had been a little more careful but I did two just to be sure I didn't have any bald spots. Love the color and the formula!

Pink Wednesday Cult Nails Style

This week I got my first Cult Nails polishes! I pre-ordered the Divas and Drama collection so today's post features one of them - Enticing. Enticing is a gorgeous sheer pink with a very, very subtle shimmer...almost jellyish. I used 3 coats with some VNL but flawless application. I then stamped my middle finger using Julep Niecy and Bundle Monster BM 215 plate.

Purple Stripes

One of the girls at work the other day asked me to do something "purple" for my nails for the next day. It was a perfect excuse for me to try out some of the new essie colors I had yet to try. I started with a basecoat (still trying different ones, this time was Finger Paints) and then two coats of essie She's Picture Perfect. I'm not sure if it was the basecoat or the polish but it was kind of tough to apply, sort of "dragging" up the nail. It is a really gorgeous shade though and either way, I would put up with it for the color! I topped that with a coat of SV and waited for it to dry completely and then used essie No More Film (LOVE this color!!!) and my m78 plate for the stamp. I topped it with a coat of NYC Grand Central Station (clear) but as you can sort of make out it was a little streaky between the two colors, not sure what happened there, I have used it before without any trouble. At any rate, I got loads of compliments on this mani!

Happy Easter!!

Sorry for the late posting, it has been a very busy week around here! Several people out at work due to major illnesses and that means a lot of overtime for me and with school...well it really hasn't been fun.
Anyway, on to today's mani! This one is pretty simple compared to my entry for Nouveau Cheap's Easter roundup which you can see here. For this one, I started with one coat of essence Dress For a Moment and then one coat of Sinful's Purple Diamond. The Purple Diamond is a beautiful color but very sheer, the sparkle is amazing though! Then on my ring finger I used a dotting tool and Sinful's Snow Me White for the bunny, Essie Raise Awareness for the pink accents and essence Black is Back for the eyes and whiskers. Hope you all had a blessed holiday!

Frenzy

This evening I have a simple swatch for you but a gorgeous shade! This is Hard Candy's Frenzy. A luscious turquoise cream shade that was easy to apply, opaque in 2 coats and has average dry time. Shown here without a topcoat.

Zoya Stacy Swatch and Review

Stacy is another of the polishes that I got during Zoya's recent buy 3 get 3 promo and I am really glad I did! Stacy is such a lovely shade, raspberry toned with some purple/red undertones... The application of this polish was simply amazing! I have yet to come across one that applied so smoothly as this one did. Dry time was really pretty quick and this is a super shiny polish; pics are shown with two coats (could have used 3) no topcoat!
